I’ve been to Hostels before, but I could never imagine that some of them are really conscious of making the world a better place through programs of awareness and respect for the environment. I was so lucky to know personally two of the most green and sustainable hostels in the United States.
As its motto says, Hostelling International was created to help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of the world and its people through hostelling. By staying in one of its hostels, not only you will meet other people who travel like you, but you will be able to learn how to take care for the world where we live together, respecting and looking after the environment and everything around us.
One of the most modern and greenest hostels in U.S. is located in Boston.
So new, colorful and simple; it’s son homely that you feel it’s a relaxing and a very positive place.
The other one, is not so new, but has so much history behind that you want to learn everything about it. I’m talking about Pigeon Point Hostel. Located in one of the most beautiful and magical places I’ve ever been: San Francisco Bay.
Sleeping so close to this wonderful building is simply a unique experience. There, you can learn so much about the location and also they are trying to get funds to improve the lighthouse which is still in use but very deteriorated.
I loved both and the good things the two of them are doing for the world and the people who stays there.
Have a nice day!
Don’t forget your hostel etiquette!
